1st December 2004

I feel as if I must apologize, first and foremost this week. Some of you are probably wondering why there wasn’t a report this week, the reason being is that I was unable to ride, or take part in any after ride activities due to a heavy workload. Also, as I am away this week too, I entrusted the job of writing the ‘Odes’ to another member of the Moos. As there was nothing written I bet you were all thinking that I had asked Dez to write it?!!? But no, the job was given to Mark Owgie, who obviously being the Club Secretary was too busy to convey his thoughts from last weeks ride. He did however as I notice, manage to write another two bit letter to MBR!! We now know where his loyalties lie!!!

The only news I managed to gather from last week is that this week’s ride will be taken by Bernaaard, without giving to much away I think that his ride will mainly consist of lane work, because as the a lot of the trails are quite muddy at the moment, I don’t think it will take the weight of Bernaards sizeable arse, so it will be best to stick to more solid ground!!

Ant also passed on some important news, apparently while he was in the Post Office picking up his pension, he bumped into Madge, Kev the Gallons girlfriend, who said “I’ve been on to Kevin that I think it would be a nice idea if he could take a ride one week”! Ant did tell me this in ‘confidence’ although I did feel the need to share it with the rest of the Moos, and to prepare you for a 2 hour ascent of Turners lane, with a bit of walking thrown in, and the inevitable moaning when ‘Harold ‘ gets his ride!!! Ant then proceeded to bore me with the things he had been doing in work, one of which was extracting, as he put it “an eight foot long piece of animal guts, from the under carriage” I don’t know why he was so shocked at this, because knowing some of the women he had been out with when he was younger, I thought he would be used to handling eight foot pieces of guts!!!!

Also it has been noted that the Captain’s ride reports have been late going in too, he prefers instead to take his wife down Biffins Bridge! A bit of good news though, his company has been streamlining and the Captain and Blip (who works for the same company) had been worrying for their jobs, so I’m glad to say that both of them survived the ‘cull’. Although it might have been better if Scrippsy had lost his job, perhaps then he would get his priorities correct and spend more time with the Moos and writing ride reports!!

Another note to mention is the poor turn out for this Sundays ride, with only Ant and Blip turning up. Apparently Blip was waiting several minutes at the top of each hill for Ant who was having an ‘off’ day.

Hopefully this week you will get the ‘Odes’ and ‘Captains Corner’ on time, and again I can only apologize for Owgies total disregard for his fellow members!! Just to round things up, 20 days now for Ant, who is vying for the title of ‘employee of the year’, Gaz has now moved from the employment of Cardiff City Council, and has got a temporary job with the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The lifts had broken down this week, and he can be seen powering them up and down with his super human strength! And congratulations to Dez who has now successfully completed Janet and John book 14!!
