2nd April 2008

Harty’s Ride

It was good to be back out on a weds after missing last weeks jaunt so it was fitting that this weeks ride was a cracking one plotted by Harty including some of our oldest and toughest trails.

We started with Break Back which saw two noticeable refusals from Johnnsy and Russell…. they plan to go back soon on their own to get over the stage fright induced by the cheering Moos!! We then rode through the woods and headed again (2nd time in less than a month) for the ‘Drop of Death’ which lived up to it’s reputation firstly, by claiming the Vice and then myself who crashed into a dazed and confused Vice. There were very few refusals this week but a lot of sketchy descents in the slippery conditions. Special mention to Rog and Knotty for their brave attempts, especially after recent injuries. The remainder of the ride wasn’t quite so eventful but excellent never-the-less especially the two pints in the Hairy Bush.

A number of the Moos seem to be taking the downhill champs seriously after they were spotted sessioning the mountain. They looked like they were having fun but weren’t riding fast enough to beat myself to the bottom of the hill even though I was running in my pyjamas!!

This months winners of the Twat and Rider of the month went to:

Harty for the Rider of the month.

Dafydd for the Twat of the month after pictures of his sheep loving exploits.

Next weeks ride is to be led by Jock so expect some serious down hilling and don’t forget your monies for the French trip, the summer trip to Bristol and those who are racing in June… all about £40 I think!!

That’s it for now Moos.

P.S. Thanks to Johnnsy for last weeks write-up
