Gentlemen, Just a quick e-mail to say thank you for allowing me to be your guest rider on Wednesday 19th of July.
For the past year I have been following your website and must say that unless you actually participate in your Wednesday night rides then the average reader would have no idea what is involved. I came to the conclusion descending down the Garlic Path (45 degree 300ft muddy descent) after 3 pints at 10pm in the pitch black of night avoiding rocks and trees that you have to either be bloody stupid or an excellent rider to even attempt that descent. I’m sure you all remember that a few extra pounds and the fact that I have not been on a bike for 2 months almost killed me on the first big ascent so I apologies if I slowed you all down. Also a big thank you to Scrippsy for his hospitality and allowing me to stay his house. Even after returning from the second pub he was a star and opened another bottle of wine which we proceeded to drink into the early hours at his house. Please read the followin e-mail which I received from his fellow workers at the drawing office the following day.
Skripp’sy please look at the photo entitled ‘The christening of Scrippsy’s saddle’. Remember your saddle was stolen from you bike around 3 miles before we got to the last pub and then you found it on the pub bench cover in a pool of water, or at least that what you thought it was at the end of the evening. Well this may answer you question’s.
I very much look forward to seeing you guys the same time next year. Many thanks Denzil Newport Beach (Gordon imaginary friend) |
