Moo Sports Evening – Event 2
The Captain and Vice would like to announce details of the second instalment of this years Miggly Moos Sport night to be held on Wednesday 28th April 2010.
The ride format for the night is a mixture of up hills and downhill’s with a little bit of single-track thrown in for good measure, the main emphasis of the night is TEAM WORK…
Points to Consider:
Teams will consist of 6 riders
One elected captain per team
6 different route races
Captain selects 2 riders per event
Riders can only be selected for a maximum of 2 races for the night
Captains selects riders based on event
Points available for 1st place through to last on each event
Individual riders to accumulate total team points.
Final Super Special Stage to finish for all riders
Race Routes:
Race
1 – King of the Mountain!
Starting from Lower Machen Church it’s a race all the way up
Ochrwyth lane to the cattle grid.

2 – There we are Butts!
A race from the fence (top field) down Perrets field to the bottom gate
just before the quarry turn off, plenty of places to pass, plenty of
places to fall!

3 – Sprint Climb
On Rhyd-y-gwern lane, starting from the main forestry gate, it’s
a quick sprint unto the benches…

4 – Anyone for a Carling?
Starting on the main track by the benches its left onto the single-track
then right over the log through the single-track back onto the gravel
path which leads to Carling tree start then all the way to the bottom
of the Carling Tree including styling it over the jump!

5 – Out of this Quarry
From the quarry floor, through the quarry onto the main track and up
to the top of the quarry downhill, then turn left through the boulders
/ logs onto the back lane and down to the Maenllwyd.

6 – Maenllwyd Loop
Starting at the barrier entrance to the ridgeway, it’s a quick
dash up the track and left down the steps, once down the steps, an immediate
left turn and it’s a dash along the bottom track back onto the
lane and back to the Maenllwyd.

7 – Le Mans Style Race-Off – all riders
After a few pints on board it’s a Le Mans style race from the top
of the Quarry run all the way home to HQ – points awarded for the
first 10 rider’s home.
